Patrinus fuit Dominus Maria Jacquelinus d'Altenach [?], subcenturio legionis pedestris Anhalt dictae, cujus absentis vices gessit praenobilis D.nus Andreas Capriol de St Hilaire, eques ordinis militaris S.ti Ludovici, centurio legionis rei tormentariae, Landaviae residens, nati ab uxore avunculus ; matrina vero D.na Maria Joanna Catharina Horrer, uxor nobilis Domini de Brudern, satrapae in Appenwyr, absente patre sponso [?], qui mecum subscripserunt.

In the year of the Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy-five, on the ninth of October, I, the undersigned, baptised Marie Joseph, born the same day at four in the morning, lawful son of the illustrious M. Philippe Xavier Horrer, archivist of the city of Strasbourg, and of Dame Marie Régine Kien, a married couple living in this parish.
The godfather was M. Marie Jacquelin d'Altenach [?], second lieutenant in the infantry regiment called Anhalt, in whose absence his place was taken by the most noble M. André Capriol de Saint-Hilaire, knight of the military Order of Saint Louis, captain in the artillery regiment, living at Landau, uncle of the child through his wife; the godmother was Dame Marie Jeanne Catherine Horrer, wife of the noble M. de Brudern, bailiff at Appenweier, in the absence of her husband [?]; who signed with me.
