English translation

Letter from the d'Horrers of the so-called Tula branch (descendants of Alexis d'Horrer and his son Joseph) to Sophie d'Horrer:

7 February 1995

Hello, dear relatives!
By chance we learned of your letter to Aunt Catherine; we, that is the children and grandchildren of Joseph Alexeevich Dorrer, the brother of Aunt Catherine and nephew of Georges Iosipovich Dorrer. Our names are Victoria Iosipovna Dorrer and Natalia Iosipovna Dorrer; our husbands are both called Valery, and our children Alexis and Victor.
We were very pleasantly surprised by your wish to get to know us better, because we too are interested in the history of our family.
To my great regret, my father Joseph Alexeevich, who had done the most research on our family, died in 1994 and was not able to finish it; we nevertheless have a lot of material — photos, letters — that we keep at home.
Of course we would be happy to meet you, and if you are able to come to Moscow we will meet you with joy. Perhaps we will even have the chance to go to Israel, where we have many friends and business partners.
We would very much like to tell you many other things. Unfortunately it is not possible by letter. Let us telephone each other to begin with; [telephone numbers of Victoria and Natalia, and fax number, not reproduced].
We look forward to hearing from you,
Victoria, Natalia, Valery, Valery, Alexis, Victor.
